Meet Tichina Burnett, LCPC
Practice Owner & Clinical Therapist
My name is Tichina Burnett and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor in the state of Illinois who provides individual and couples therapy. I believe intently in the power of your narrative and the beauty of your lived experience. Born and raised in the Roseland neighborhood of Chicago, I am a wife and mother of two who enjoys the privilege of working within the intersectionality of identity, human need, and complex emotions. My expertise includes working with adults experiencing depression, trauma, anxiety, difficulties in their romantic partnerships, and grief along with navigating daily life.
The Sacred Therapeutic Work
I work from narrative, solutions-focused, and trauma-based lenses to ensure you understand how every area of your life has contributed to who you are today. I honor and prioritize the understanding that your difficulties may derive from systemic, relational, and/or traumatic experiences. In our collaborative partnership, clients have experienced improved self-esteem and boundary setting; informed communication in relationships; reduced self-criticism; and the ability to peacefully release blockages to self-improvement and internal transformation.
You are pivotal in every context you encounter, so let’s prioritize your healing, help you show yourself a bit of grace, and learn tangible and practical solutions to work through the hard moments. Come share with me as we work toward a whole you! Now accepting clients in the state of Illinois.
Meet Sadé Stokes, LPC
Therapy is a big step and if you are debating doing it, just try it out...at least once. You owe yourself that. Seeking to improve yourself is never a step backward and given today's world, there are so many things to process. People come to therapy with work-related stress, issues of identity, difficulty managing relationships (personal and professional), grief, low self-esteem, life transitions, race, ethnicity, graduating, marriage, divorce, giving birth, anxiety, etc. Anything that keeps you from showing up the way you would hope to in life, is worth giving yourself a chance to explore so you can find peace. Empower yourself to navigate the life you want.
I use an Integrative approach that includes Narrative Therapy, Adlerian Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, and more to assist clients with their anxiety. I work with people from various demographic backgrounds including immigrants, first-generation immigrants, LGBTQ+, veterans, and women and men of color.
Therapy is one of the few occupations that allows the practitioner to see a client's full transformation. If you are struggling with anxiety amongst other things, I'd love to work with you - I truly love what I do. I offer free consultations. If you have the slightest interest in therapy, please reach out to me so we can figure out the best options for you.
Meet Nikiya Pruitt, LCSW
EMDR trained & DBT informed
In a society filled with checkboxes, performances, and expectations, we often feel overwhelmed, depleted, and left alone to think that we don’t have much to offer or give. We question our worth, purpose, and existence while meeting societal expectations. Why me? Why wasn’t I good enough? Who am I? All of life’s hurts and disappointments can make us feel like we are just surviving and not living up to the potential we know we have. We constantly struggle with knowing who we want to be, and our wounds make us feel incapable of showing up for ourselves and others, feeling stuck in an endless cycle of shame. Where do we go from here?
As a Black Queer Clinician, working in the social service field for more than 10 years, and as a therapist, I offer a warm, affirming, and non-judgmental approach to helping those in need feel welcomed, safe, and valued. I specialize in working with individuals who have a hard time managing their anxiety, grief, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, gender identity/sexual identity, HIV/AIDS stigma, relationship issues, body acceptance, and family conflicts, using a combination of Trauma-Informed treatment modalities. As a therapist, I hope to help you find your voice, pace, and path on your healing journey. I also love incorporating mindfulness practices by introducing somatic techniques to help regulate the body when learning to manage intense emotions. My goal is to help you find healing while integrating traditional talk therapy with exploring holistic approaches that continue to help propel you forward. Healing doesn't happen overnight, but the right tools, support, and guidance can make the journey easier. Suffering doesn't have to be your identity for the rest of your life.
